About us > Link up > NES Track Link-up
Link-up is the UK rail industry supplier qualification scheme, providing a single common registration, qualification and audit process for suppliers that is shared by the UK rail industry.
What does it provide?
Does it guarantee anything?
Yes it allows NES Track to engage sub contractors on a sponsorship basis in order to maintain their competencies. It also allows NES Track to train and assess our own people permitting substantial flexibility and cost savings. The foregoing means that we don’t require to work through third parties to maintain our own sub-contractors, this would be very costly and difficult indeed.
Has everyone got it?
No, but those that matter do. All the major companies have it and ask for the Approved Link Up certificate almost immediately because it is, "recognised as a process for suppliers that is shared by Network Rail and over 80 rail organisations including infrastructure management contractors, underground infrastructure companies, construction companies and all major train and freight Operators".
What do we have to do to get it?
It is quite a far-reaching audit process. In May, last year NES Track was chosen as one of five UK companies to test out what is called the new V2 company footprint as this is the format going forward.
Pass, accommodate and maintain by audit a common auditing process that has been agreed by multiple rail organisations.
Why is it seen as important?
- NES Track can differentiate its business from its competitors by operating at a recognised level
- Gives further details of NES Track’s capabilities outside the confines of the normal questionnaire
- Offers sub-contractor ownership permitting substantial flexibility and cost savings.
- Enhances credibility through reflecting capability.
