We are looking for 2 Senior Planning Engineers to work for a large railways contractor, one is based in Birmingham, the other in South Wales. You wiill Produce tender programmes and identify/cost method related temporary works. Support Contracts to control and update programmes.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
�Control and update programme for typical projects
�Produce short term programmes for phases of projects
�Liaise with project team to develop and maintain programme as project develops
�Conversant in current programme packages
�Be aware of statutory requirements affecting company standards
�Actively promote at all levels the company�s contract to effective HSQE management
�Work in a safe manner at all times
�Discuss HSQE matters with the Assurance Manager when required
�Plan safety into work activities
�Involvement in pre-quals / tender planning as required
�Assist sites in achieving company standards.
�Attends all meetings as required by BRIMS

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
�Knowledge of design, procurement and construction aspects of Railway Civils or Building Engineering
�Understanding of interfaces with railway specialist disciplines including signalling, telecoms, retail telecoms, permanent way and electrification
�Working knowledge of relevant industry legislation, standards, procedures and codes of practice and their application
�Knowledge of temporary works design and construction
�Well developed commercial acumen of standard railway forms of contract
�Knowledge of innovative design and construction techniques that will bring competitive value to projects
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
�Degree in Civil Engineering related subject or experience in industry.
�Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status with relevant recognised professional institution
