Our clients, are a large rail consultancy, who are looking to recruit a PWAY Engineer at their offices in Birmingham. You will be required to undertake any work of a technical nature that falls within the Jobholder�s ability and competence. To work at any position within a project team to achieve the project objectives. When required, to undertake the roles of Activity Manager, Designer or Checker as defined in the Quality Manual and the competency appraisal processes subject to suitable level of supervision.


�Preparation and checking of feasibility studies, technical reports and other written documents.
�Design, checking of horizontal and vertical alignments in plain line; design and checking of S&C layouts
�Structures gauging
�Track surveying
�Production of design concepts, drawings, specifications and other technical documents.
�Inspection of trackwork and condition monitoring
�Management of teams of engineers and external suppliers including the supervision of sub-contractors
�Direction and supervision of CAD technicians and suppliers.

Requirements

�Competent to work under minimum supervision; competent to check the work of others.
�Post-graduate experience, primarily in the design of permanent way alignments and layouts.
�Previous experience in the rail industry is essential.
