Our client are the largest engineering consultancy in the UK, the largest multidisciplinary consultancy in Europe and the world�s fifth largest design firm.

Their Glasgow office is currently looking for a Rail Planner to support a range of projects currently in our portfolio. Working as a planner, but within our wider project management team, there would be the opportunity to take on further responsibilities and develop your project management skills.

Responsibilities
� Communicating with various departments in order to put project plans and programmes into a logical sequence, including setting timescales.
� Challenging people or teams where necessary in order to improve project efficiency
� Reviewing and amending project plans on a regular basis
� Attending meetings with the Project Team and Client in order to expand on the plan structure and assumptions made, defending these where necessary
� Regular progress reporting and monitoring of project milestones
� Reporting on any potential hazards and supporting corrective action where needed to prevent project overrun
� There will be the opportunity to get involved in managing departments to the programme
� Ensure that all issues within the programme are highlighted and understood by Project Team
� Possible involvement in the preparation of Bids for future work

Requirements
� Relevant project experience in a planning/project controls environment
� Good Primavera P3e knowledge is essential
� Knowledge of Microsoft Project would be useful
� Knowledge of system or process engineering is important
� Rail experience would be an advantage
� Good communicator � both written and verbally
