3 Electrical Testers required to work on a major rail project for main sub-contractor to Network Rail.

Nature of Work

� Fault finding and first line fault repair of plant equipment on systems up to and including 22kV
� Servicing (clean, inspect & report) of DC switchgear and frequency changers
� Construction, maintenance, fault finding and repair of substation/station batteries and associated charging equipment
� Undertake work on live AC and DC apparatus, conductors or equipment up to 1kV
� Assist Fitting Teams while on standby duties
� Use meters and instruments and record readings
� Drive vehicles, clean them and carry out vehicle checks as required
� Operate communication / data transmission and display equipment
� Operate mechanical aids and use portable equipment
� Take substations/switch houses etc onto local/manual control
� Undertake regular inspections of plant and site conditions, monitor and log plant instrumentation and record and report any defects/abnormalities
� Ensure that the work of staff acting under his control is carried out in accordance with Safety instructions

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential for Entry Level

Indentured apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering / Modern apprenticeship in electrical field or Equivalent experience in a railway environment
City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering
Full clean driving licence
Fully conversant with, and fluent in, oral and written English
