Our clients are a large Rail organisation, who are looking to recruit a Signalling Design Engineer at their offices in Central London. The Signal Design Engineer will be responsible for the engineering design of allocated proposals from clarification of remit to the completion of the project. Develop engineering solutions to proposals to best satisfy the business case. You will be required to optimise all engineering and development activities result in schemes that are affordable, and that meet programme requirements for time, cost and quality. Supervising (or undertake where applicable) the development of engineering options giving consideration to safety, reliability, operational capacity modelling, maintainability, ease of construction, and environmental/whole life issues.

You will be at least HND educated (degree preferred) or have an equivalent industry-recognised training qualification. You will hold an IRSE Principles Designer / Signalling Design Verifier licence (or equivalent).

Have a demonstrable aptitude for option development with strong evaluation and decision-making skills. Successful applicants will have a working knowledge of rail engineering; relevant successful experience working in the principal discipline and an adequate understanding of all other related disciplines with ability to work and communicate effectively in a team context and an appreciation of all the life cycle stages of rail infrastructure.
