We are looking for a Safety Management and Assurance specialist to work for a large railways consultancy. The position will be based in the Safety Management and Assurance team in our client's Derby office.
Duties and responsibilities:
To project manage independent verification assignments
To undertake risk assessments and/or independent verification activities including, for example:
- engineering risk assessments
- product/process auditing
- design review/scrutiny and construction inspections
- engineering safety assessments
To liaise with Specialist Engineers on detailed technical matters.
Key skills and experience required for this position include:
A sound understanding of engineering principles and systems integration
Good communication and project management skills
Knowledge of the rail industry would be beneficial, however applicants with appropriate skills will be considered from other industries
A high level of professional integrity.
Qualifications:
It is considered that the successful applicants for these posts would ideally be a Chartered Engineer (or currently working towards) or an engineer with equivalent experience
