Our clients are a large rail organisation, who are looking to recruit a Safety Manager at their offices in Central London. The Safety Manager will lead the provision of professional health and safety support to all parts of the programme. Communicate to the programme team whether safety matters are being managed in a competent and professional manner. To support the formation of safety plans that support company safety performance improvements. To act as the functional head of safety within the programme. Implement the Safety Management System covering all programme related functions and activities including advice on Construction Design Management (CDM), legislative guidance, and addressing matters affecting health and safety relating to all projects within the Programme.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential
Recognised safety qualification, e.g.: NEBOSH Diploma.
Relevant successful experience in safety areas, ideally with involvement in construction projects and across multi-discipline areas.
Knowledge of health & safety legislation.
Project safety management experience
Audit competence
PTS Holder

Desirable
An appreciation of safety impact on engineering work.
An understanding of the arrangements required for the independent assessment of work.
Experience of major contracting.
Knowledge of structuring safety cases in support of projects.
Technical, Scientific or Engineering education to degree level.
CITB qualification
Construction safety certificate scheme
