About the Role

Our client is looking to appoint a Principal Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to provide support to the Section Manager. In this role you will undertake design, supervision and management of a wide range of projects in the railway environment. Provide technical support, tender preparation and cost estimates. Develop and manage business opportunities and subordinate staff as necessary.

Main responsibilities will include:

Assist with the day-to-day running of the Glasgow team
Carry out and take responsibility for conceptual designs and detail designs on a wide variety of M&E or OLE projects in the railways environment and or mechanical and electrical building services projects.
Prepare reports and similar documentation to client requirements.
Set and manage project, technical, safety and quality targets and objectives.
Manage a wide variety of single discipline projects
Undertake site supervision, site visits and site surveys
About You

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:

Ideally a first degree in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Minimum of HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer or qualifications leading to professional registration.
Extensive experience in design and design management within M&E or OLE Systems
Rail infrastructure, including signalling supply interfaces and lineside distribution, depot services.
Extensive experience in the management of teams.
