Our clients, a large blue-chip consultancy firm, are looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer at their offices in Birmingham. The Mechanical Engineer will become part of the Mechanical Engineering Team in Birmingham, to assist with the technical aspects of, and eventually manage, electrical, mechanical, and energy projects.

Responsibilities of the role will include:
Carry out inspection and auditing of heavy mechanical engineering plant and equipment, including rotating machinery.
Become familiar with the technical, quality and environmental systems in place in the above sectors and to work to those procedures, often under very tight timescales
Assist with the delivery of technical work within the above sectors.
Liaise with other staff in the Birmingham office and other divisional offices as required.
Diversify current skills to other market sectors if required.
Must be fully familiar with standard office tools, and able to undertake presentations to higher management, and external clients, on any aspect of projects in their control.

Candidate specification
The candidate will be looking to develop their career and their skill set in a varied and challenging role. This position will demand that the successful candidate has strong technical competencies as well as a personal comfort with client liaison and business development.A degree in mechanical or production engineering is preferred. Membership of a relevant engineering institution (eg IMechE) and professional registration should either be held, or be in the process of being obtained.
