Our clients, are a large Consultancy organisation, are looking to recruit a Highways Design Engineer at their offices in Central London.They are looking for motivated staff to work as a Highway Design Engineer. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work on a challenging and fast moving project on road and infrastructure design

Responsibilities

A coordination role with other multi-disciplinary contributors to the project. Day to day highway design and coordination with team members (Internal and external). Supervising CAD technicians within the team.Responsible for own designs, drawings and calculations, and that of small design teams. Required to self-check own work and that of others to satisfy QA requirements. Issuing work (design packages, drawing production, basic calculations, etc) to graduate engineers and technicians and monitoring performance.

Requirements

The ability to lead small teams of designers and technicians. An excellent knowledge of UK highway design, design standards and 3D highway design software essential. Design skills of benefit would include excellent knowledge and experience of applying relevant highway design codes (e.g. DMRB); ability in and demonstrable experience in the application of 3D highway design software packages (INROADS and Micro Station).Design experience of surface water drainage, road signs and lines, pavement and liaison with statutory undertakers would be expected. Degree qualification (ideally Chartered) In depth knowledge of engineering procedures and standards. Be able to design and deliver highways engineering solutions on complex projects
Expert in providing project management guidance and direction on multi-disciplinary projects.
