Our clients, a large blue-chip consultancy firm, are looking to recruit an Electrical Power Distribution Project Engineer at their offices in Central London for Rail Traction Power Supply Upgrade Projects.

The project involves the outline design of dc traction power and auxiliary substations and cable interconnections. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team the job holder is required to pull-together the design input from each discipline and develop and co-ordinate the conceptual design documentation for approval by the Client.

Candidates are expected to have either a power transmission and distribution or rail systems background and experience as a designer in one or more of the following areas:
Traction or MV Distribution Substations
Equipment Layout
Protection Systems
High Voltage (11kV) Distribution Systems
DC Traction Power Distribution System Design - 630/750V DC -Cabling Electrification Design and working knowledge of traction Power System Simulation Studies
Systems Integration in a rail environment LV AC (400V) Distribution System Design
Balance of Plant
SCADA Systems

Suitable candidates will be qualified to a minimum of HNC / HND, Degree / Chartered Engineer preferred. Experience of London Underground Standards and Assurance process an advantage.
